About Us
Pact Packaging’s Wellington facility (formerly Flight Plastics) is New Zealand’s only packaging manufacturing site with integrated PET recycling capability.
This means we recycle post-consumer (PCR) PET into high quality, foodgrade rPET and then remanufacture it into recycled plastic packaging at the one facility.
Pact Group
Pact Group’s vision is to lead the Circular Economy through innovative Packaging, Reuse and Recycling solutions. With 110 operating sites across 15 countries, the Group is the largest recycler of virgin plastic in Australasia.
At Pact, we take a local approach to creating a Circular Economy. Since day one, our mission has been to ensure valuable resources remain in circulation for as long as possible through our Reuse division. Our Recycling division continues to invest in the most advanced technology to recover post-industrial and post- consumer waste at scale. This ensures we can offer our customers privileged access to high quality recycled resins that are locally sourced, process and re-manufactured through our Packaging division.
Flight Plastics
In 2021, Pact Group acquired Flight Plastics. Flight Plastics was established in the early 1900s in Australia and New Zealand to serve customers with innovative plastics and packaging solutions. During the 1970s Flight Plastics pioneered local production of rPET roll stock and thermoformed plastic containers and were the first Australasian company producing eco-friendly rPET roll stock and finished containers on one site.
Flight’s recycling capability reinforces Pact’s position as the largest recycler of plastics in the region, and the merged business will be able to offer customers a range of fresh food packaging products that can contain up to 100% locally sourced recycled material.
